The storm

Kansas received an extreme amount of snow this past weekend.... in May! It was about 3 feet deep but with the wind some drifts were up to 5 feet. Wind guests were up in the 70s. The Saturday of the major snow storm weekend we spent at the FFA barn helping members get pigs into the barn as well as creating our own pen inside for our calves. We didn't think it would be that bad, until we couldn't get out of the driveway and John was stranded at my house! I had to have one of my students pick us up because of the tree blocking most of mine and my neighbors drive. My student helped get us to the barn to feed the calves and get hay to his sisters horses and pigs! All of our animals survived, we even had a barn cat give birth to a new litter of kitties! Some in our county weren't as fortunate. Many animals were killed in the storm. John has worked crazy hours at the feedlot, it has been a mess.
